Loony tunes

The loony part in my head- takes a physical manifestation many a times and produces startling results. Yeah "Startling" that's exactly how I'd like to put it.

But the mainstream is never far away to pull you back, its a crabs world: take a step in a different direction and you will be pulled back.

With Clichés ruling the world I'll be back to "Normalcy" from tomorrow.

Lahaul and Spiti Route (Sumdo to Sarchu)

THE plan

Follow 11, 10,9,8 for our route

This plan keeps changing, but more or less its Final. I wanted to write this in a more readable format , Excel is “meticulous” and I am NOT so here is the readable side of it.
We will pass Lahul /Spiti enroute, Moonland here we come.

If all goes well, fingers crossed, here is what the itinerary would look like.
We plan to reach Chandigarh on the 29th evening.

From Kuzum on the right hand corner to the heavenly lake, and then back again on the manali leh highway. I like this map.

Lots of Monasteries En route and probably we will see Kibber as well the highest inhabited place on earth

Day 1
Chandigarh – Powari (347 kms)
Should be a looong ride, doing this much in the hills aint a piece of cake. But hell yeah, we will ride, sweat hard initially and reap the fruits later..yeesh that was a bad one.

No clue how Powari is? Just a small town perhaps, don’t know what to expect there but that’s the fun part, if all is, what is expected, then whats the adventure.

Day 2
Powari to Kaza (189 kms)
Don’t be fooled by the number of kms, this is supposed be be a landslide prone area, this section would be an ass breaker.

Day 3
Kaza – Chandratal (KMS dunno exactly must be around a 150 odd)
Yeaaahhhhh if you don’t know where Chandra taal is google it , try images. Don’t be jealous when you find out. En route the first Pass Kunzum.

No mentioning KMS beyond this point. Its all Heavenly riding..

Day 4
Chandra Taal – Keylang (Dunno and don’t care we will make it there the Mountain Magic up there I hope its an endless road ..ha ha)

Day 5
Keyalng –Sarchu
Zing-Zing bar and Barlacha La enroute. Just Pass this exam, and you dont have to aim scoring high…bad one I agree.

Day 6 Sarchu-Leh

Day 7 Leh

Rest your ass- get permits -have good food.

Day 8

Leh –Kardungla- Leh
photo kheenchne hai bhai..worlds highest motor able road. Duh

Day 9 Leh –Spangmik

The Lake part of the Journey, again google it with Pang Gong to find out more i am not a spoon feeder.

Day 10
Spangmik- Leh

My patience to write runs out after this point , wonder why?. And the Kilometers will come back

Day 11 Leh- Kargil (230 Kms)

Good roads I suppose, Jawahar tunnel, Have heard a lot about it. And more passes Like Zorji la Fotu la etc en route. This will be fun. Lamayuru as well -heard there is a monastery there.

Day 12 Kargil- Srinagar (430 Kms approx)

Sonmarg and Gulmarg..i want to see that..

Day 13 Srinagar- Chandigarh (650 Kms)

Jeez this will be maddening

Day 14 Chandigarh- Delhi

Damm it ends so soon


I just hope it HAPPENS, too much rests on this..i have loads of pictures which i can put here (not mine :) just been Leh surfing a lot) but i am restraining myself, call me pessimistic if you want, I'm just nervous.
